General Information
The Fourth International Symposium on Refractories jointly organized by the Chinese Ceramic Society and the Chinese Society for Metals will be held from October 14 to 18, 2002 in
Dalian, China. The main theme of the symposium is Trends of Refractories Development in the New Century. This will provide a good opportunity for researchers, manufacturers, suppliers, and users in the refractories field around the world to review the progress and achievements made in the last century, to assess new developments in refractories research, production and application in the new century, and to promote further international cooperation.

A limited amount of space is available for exhibitors. Interested companies and institutions are encouraged to contact with symposium secretariat for reservation.
Venue
As the third largest port in China, Dalian is located on the southern tip of Liaodong Peninsula in the northeast. Huge tonnages of refractory materials are exported from Dalian harbor every year. Dalian is a place where you can find natural scenes of stunning beauty, amiable climate and attractive beaches. The world famous magnesite deposits are only 1-1.5 hours' drive by freeway from
Dalian; a post-symposium tour to visit them will be organized.
Call for Papers
Authors are requested to submit an abstract of approximately 150 words before Feb. 15, 2002 to the symposium secretariat. Abstracts will be reviewed by Program Committee. Authors will be notified acceptance of papers with an instruction for preparing the manuscript by March 15, 2002. The complete camera-ready manuscripts up to 6000 words / paper are to be submitted no later than June 15, 2002.
Language
English is the working language through the symposium.
